Sourcing,
Selecting the
Finest Beans

Our vanilla beans are sourced from various regions across Indonesia, including Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Timur, and other fertile lands. Indonesia’s tropical climate and nutrient-rich soil create the perfect environment for vanilla cultivation. We work closely with local farmers, many of whom have cultivated vanilla for generations, ensuring sustainable sourcing and proper farming techniques.

Vanilla orchids require careful hand pollination, a delicate and time-sensitive process done by skilled farmers. After pollination, the beans take around 8 to 9 months to fully develop before harvesting. Only mature beans are selected to maintain optimal flavor and aroma.

Selection & Sorting

Upon arrival at our facility, the green vanilla beans undergo a selection process. Our trained staff inspects each batch, sorting the beans based on size, shape, and quality.

killing or boiling

3 / 9

Killing/Boiling

The curing process begins with a brief boiling of the green vanilla beans in hot water, halting further maturation and initiating the development of their rich aroma and flavor.

4 / 9

Sweating

After boiling, the beans are wrapped and placed in a controlled environment. This crucial step retains moisture and promotes the development of the beans’ deep, complex flavor.

sun drying

5 / 9

Sun Drying

Following the sweating phase, the beans are sun-dried over several weeks to gradually reduce moisture, preventing mold growth, and locking in their rich natural flavor.

air drying

Air Drying

Sun-dried beans then undergo controlled indoor drying to slowly reach ideal moisture, preserving flavor and ensuring quality. Our team monitors this process for the desired rich flavor and smooth texture.

grading

Grading

Once air-dried, the beans are carefully graded according to their size, appearance, moisture content, and overall quality to ensure they meet the diverse needs of our clients.
