The Long Journey of Rendah Vanilla
Rendah Vanilla is a family-owned company with a long-standing tradition of entrepreneurship. Founded in 1955 by Wayan Rendah as Fa. Rendah, the business began in various sectors before focusing on vanilla.
Today, Rendah Vanilla is dedicated to processing high-quality vanilla beans, built on decades of experience, trust, and commitment to sustainability and community.

Purchasing Kwanditan wood in Negara, Bali, and processing it into beams, planks, and rafters for sale.
Copra Trading and Dried Bread Production: Partnering with a Sukawati, Bali baker to produce unique dried bread with caramelized sugar topping, while processing coconuts into copra for oil production and selling shells for charcoal.
Following the passing of Wayan Rendah in 1965, the company became inactive for over two decades
Ketut Atmajaya, the son of Wayan Rendah, revived the company and shifted its focus to vanilla bean processing.
Completed the first vanilla bean export, marking Fa. Rendah’s entry into the global vanilla industry.
We conducted our first survey trip to Lombok Island to explore the growing potential of vanilla beans. During this visit, we connected with local farmers, marking the beginning of vanilla cultivation in the region and strengthening our commitment to community-based sourcing.
We made our first visit to Palu, Sulawesi Island to explore new sourcing opportunities. The trip opened valuable connections with local farmers and highlighted the potential of Sulawesi as an emerging region for high-quality vanilla cultivation.
We made our first visit to Toraja, a highland region in Sulawesi Island known for its rich agricultural traditions. This journey deepened our understanding of the land’s potential and strengthened our relationships with local growers in the heart of the island.
We expanded our sourcing to South Sulawesi, forming a partnership with local farmers. During our visit, we toured their vanilla bean drying facilities, strengthening collaboration and quality control.
From a small family business to a global vanilla supplier, our journey us built on craftsmanship, tradition, and commitment to quality. With sustainable practices and adherence to international food safety standards, we continue to bring the finest vanilla to the world.
